Pink Saturday card

Good day everyone, and welcome to Pink Saturday!

I am joining with Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. Click on the links and see who else is joining the party.

This is a card I received through Postcrossing.  What is Postcrossing, you ask?  It is an internet project, where "The goal of this project is to allow people to receive postcards from all over the world, for free. Well, almost free! The main idea is that: if you send a postcard, you will receive at least one back from a random Postcrosser from somewhere in the world."
How it works:
Register, and then:
"1. request an address from the website.
2. mail the postcard to the address
3. wait to receive a postcard
4. register the received postcard in the system."

I have received cards from 62 different countries!  The card above is a hand-made card from Desiree in the Netherlands.  It is sweet and pink.  Pink postcards are NOT as common as you may think!
Happy Pink Saturday,

Happy Postcard Friendship Friday - Stamps

Good day everyone, and welcome to Postcard Friendship Friday!

As I have mentioned before, I am an avid member of Postcrossing.  The past two weeks I have gotten a variety of lovely postcards from all around the world.  Today I'd like to share with you some of the beautiful stamps from other countries.

Starting from the upper left, the stamps are from Russia, Bermuda Estonia, and Finland.  I really like the two Estonian stamps.

Such a little world of art in stamps!

Happy PFF and Pink Saturday

Good day everyone, and welcome to Postcard Friendship Friday and Pink Saturday!
I am joining with Beth at The Best Hearts are Crunchy for PFF, and Bev at How Sweet the Sound.  Click on the links and see who else is joining the party.

This vintage card has the most wonderful colors and of course, pink flowers.  It is embossed and has gold on it too.  The border, which looks like birch trees, is just an extra touch.

Best wishes to you, where ever you are!

Postcard Friendship Friday: A fountain

Thank you to our hostess Beth at The Best Hearts are Crunchy for hosting Postcard Friendship Friday. Click on the link to see who else is playing!

This is a postcard of the Snow Memorial Fountain in Brockton Massachusetts.  Clearly an old postcard, and clearly a public fountain.  It is on the National Register of Historic places and even has a web page!  According to the web page:

"The clock which occupies a triangular island at North & East Main streets  in Winthrop Square, was given to the city in 1902 by shoe manufacturer & philanthropist George G. Snow. Mr. Snow built the clock and the granite fountain base so that no one in Brockton would go thirsty. It has a horse trough, a bubbler & at the left & right feet of the clock there are little brass effigies of a dog & a cat, with a bowl at foot level for each.  The clock was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978."

How wonderful that animals were considered in the building of this fountain.

Happy PFF: A pleasant drive

"As the trail winds along Cold River near Charlemont, Mohawk Trail, Mass."

The Mohawk Trail is also known as Route 2, and winds through northern Massachusetts.  It is a beautiful drive in foliage time, late September and October.
Charlemont is currently a town of 1300 citizens.  It was settled in the 1750's, during the Seven Year's War.
