Sunday Stamps # 193

I am so sorry I did not visit every one's blogs last week. I was at a big professional meeting and busy every day from Saturday to when leaving Thursday.

It's been a busy week with conference and travel, and here it is Saturday night again!  It's time to set up Sunday Stamps.

This week, our theme is professions or trades.

This is a stamp from Singapore showing vanishing trades, that inspired me this week.  In this era of low cost and therefore "disposable" clothing and shoes, the professions of tailor and cobbler are slowly disappearing.  Though knowing of a good tailor is always a good thing I think!

Please join me this week, with a trade or worker, vanishing or otherwise.  I hope this theme isn't too challenging.

Theme week after that; fruits of the forest: nuts and berries.

Sunday Stamps # 192

I am off to a professional meeting so I am setting up this post ahead of time, and having blogger open it on Saturday afternoon.  I will probably be busy but I will visit your blogs as best I can.

Out theme this week is country life/harvest/Autumn, by suggestion.

My stamps come by the USPS website, but I'll say they are beautiful in person too.

The U.S. Postal Service® celebrates the abundance and bounty of America’s farmers markets with four colorful, se-tenant stamps depicting a table laden with products found at a typical farmers market. The stamp on the far left has among its products various baked goods, artisan cheeses, and eggs. The produce on the second stamp includes vegetables and fruits. Cut flowers adorn the third stamp. The stamp on the far right features live plants. Most items bear handwritten labels that identify the product and its price.

Come and join me this week with this seasonal theme!

Sunday Stamps # 191

It's another cool gray evening here in the American Midwest. However it was sunny during the day and a great day to observe changing leaves.

It's time for Sunday Stamps, and our theme this week is anything you wish.

These two Russian stamps were on the same postcard as last week's se-tenant stamps.  I love mountain stamps, snow covered or not!

Please join me with anything you wish this week.

Sunday Stamps #190

It is a cool, gray day here in the American Midwest.  It's Saturday night and time for Sunday Stamps.

Our theme for this week is se-tenant stamps.  I have this set from Russia, where the design is subtle but does pass from stamp to stamp:

This 2011 set commemorates something about the postal service, but beyond that I am lost.  I was excited to see these on a Postcrossing postcard however!

I was also excited to see 13 people join Sunday Stamps last week.  Everyone is welcome to share stamp related posts this week.

Theme next week: Anything you wish.
Theme week after that: Country life/harvest/Autumn (by suggestion).
